Active Release
Technique

Active Release Technique uses careful manipulation and movement in the diagnosis and treatment of soft tissues including muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves and fascia.
It is a non-invasive manual therapy technique that works to correct soft tissue restrictions that cause pain and mobility issues. The goal is to break down scar tissue and adhesions in order to optimize function in the body
Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a form of alternative medicine in which thin needles are inserted into the body. It is a key component of traditional Chinese medicine. Dr. Dowswell was trained at McMaster University in the Contemporary Acupuncture Program.
Although acupuncture is something that many shy away from, it is an excellent form of relief and many are surprised to know there is VERY minimal pain involved.
Orthotics

Custom orthotics are a device designed to align the foot and ankle into the most anatomically efficient position. They are like insoles that are custom made to correct your specific foot imbalance. They treat foot problems such as plantar fasciitis, tendinitis, and metatarsalgia and help alleviate foot, ankle and knee pain.
We now offer 3D scanning as our orthotic casting technique, which uses cutting-edge speed and accuracy.
Pediatric and Prenatal Care

Dr. Dowswell knows that becoming a mother is a beautiful thing but it can also cause a whole slew of new aches and pains. That is why we are here to provide chiropractic care for mothers pre & post-pregnancy.
Dr. Dowswell has extensive experience and training in Chiropractic Prenatal and Pediatric practice. This includes the Breach Turning Technique developed by Dr. Larry Webster, D.C. The technique addresses the biomechanical problems of the mother to allow the baby to establish a better in-utero position.
Koren Specific Technique (KST)

With this technique there is no twisting, cracking or popping. Instead, gentle, specific and powerful corrections are applied to the spine and structural system.
The technique corrects a form of nerve and mind/body stress which is caused by distortions to your spine and structural system known as a subluxation. These subluxations can cause various issues such as loss of energy, weakness, pain and change in organ function.
KST allows for a quick, easy and gentle correction of these subluxations, wherever they may arise.
Thompson Terminal Point Technique (TTPT)

The Thompson Terminal Point Technique, also known as Thompson Drop-Table Technique, is a chiropractic technique that uses a precision adjusting table along with a weighing mechanism which gives sufficient tension to keep the patient in the "up" position before the thrust or pressure is applied. The table aids in the thrust while minimizing the pressure that may otherwise be required for the adjustment. The technique also involves a leg length analysis to determine imbalances.
This adjustment technique helps in restoring normal nerve function, thus bringing relief from pain and possible benefits such as improving sleep, reducing stress and increasing the capacity of the body to function at its maximum
